Here's a classic cupcake recipe:


Ingredients:


- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup granulated sugar

- 2 teaspoons baking powder

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 2 large eggs

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 cup whole milk


Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla extract.

6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

7. Allow cupcakes to cool completely in the pan before frosting.


Frosting:


- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 2 cups powdered sugar

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 2-4 tablespoons whole milk


Beat butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Add vanilla extract and milk, beating until desired consistency is reached.
