Chicken Palo is a popular Pakistani dish prepared using chicken, rice and spices. here is a simple recipe for Chicken Palo the Pakistani way as follows:


Ingredients:


1 pound of boneless chicken pieces


2 cups of basmati rice


2 tablespoons ghee or oil


1 big onion, chopped


2 cloves garlic, minced


1 tbsp ginger paste


Cumin Powder 1 tsp


Coriander Powder 1 tsp


Turmeric powder half tsp.


Red chili powder half tsp.


Salt to taste


Chicken broth two cups


Water two cups


Chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)


Instructions:


Heat the ghee or oil in a large pot over medium heat.


Put onions, garlic and ginger paste. When the onions are translucent it is done.


Add chicken in and let it brown.


Cook until cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder and salt get fragrant about one to two minutes.


Stir in rice.


After boiling thoroughly with broth plus water,


Simmer on low heat covered for around 20 to25 minutes or cooked rice soaks up all liquid.


Serve hot garnished with chopped cilantro.
