Aloo Qeema, a well-known Pakistani dish, is made with minced meat (usually beef or mutton), potatoes and the spices. Here is an easy recipe for Aloo Qeema in Pakistani style:


Ingredients:


1 lb ground meat (beef or mutton)


2 medium-sized peeled and diced potatoes


1 big chopped onion


Garlic cloves – about 2 nos.


Ginger Paste – 1 tablespoon


Cumin Powder – 1 teaspoon.


Coriander Powder – 1 teaspoon.


Turmeric Powder – Half a tsp.


Red Chili Powder – Half a tsp.


Salt to taste


Ghee/Oil = Two tablespoons


– Garnish with fresh coriander leaves finely chopped


Instructions:


Begin by heating up some ghee or oil on a pan over medium heat.


Add in the onions along with ginger paste and garlic. Stir fry it until it becomes transparent in color of onion,


Mix in your mince meat and cook while stirring with a spoon until it gets browned as desired into granules.


Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes after adding salt, turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder and cumin powders to the minced meat,


Now mix in your diced potatoes properly,


Keep simmering covered for at least 20 to 25 minutes under low flame till your potatoes are cooked tender and the mince is done also.


Finish off with garnishing using chopped coriander leaves and serve hot along naan, rice or roti.


Pakistani-style tips:


For that authentic flavor use cumin, coriander and turmeric mixed spices


Add lemon juice to get that tangy touch


Go ahead add some oil/ Ghee just before serving for added richness,


Serve this alu qeema with basmati rice or naan to make it complete Pakistani


Use some raita and garnish the dish with coriander leaves.
